Stonecrest describes itself as a 55-and-over community, and its own FAQ says at least one member of the household must be 55. It is gated and lists 2,223 single-family homes, with no new lots available. Del Webb Spruce Creek Golf & Country Club calls itself a 55+ community, is gated, and lists 3,250 homes on 1,604 acres with four 9-hole golf courses. Its site does not state the household rule, so ask Mika to confirm it from the community’s documents. A third community, Spruce Creek South, has a similar name and should be checked on its own.

Summerfield as a whole has no age rule. Each community sets its own, and the rule for the exact community matters more than the ZIP code. Stonecrest’s FAQ lists monthly association fees for single-family and villa homes, but the page is undated, so ask Mika for the current amounts. Fees in other Summerfield neighborhoods vary.
What to ask before you tour
Ask which community a home belongs to and get that community’s exact age rule in writing. Ask for current association fees, the rental rules, and, for homes outside the gated communities, whether the property has a well and septic system.
Renting and owning from out of town

By public map routing without traffic, downtown Ocala is about 25 minutes away (15 miles), though the trip varies by neighborhood. Lady Lake, on the northern edge of The Villages area, is about 17 minutes away. UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital is about 12 minutes away, and AdventHealth Ocala about 23.
