The Villages’ own age rule
The Villages says at least one member of the household must be 55, and no full-time resident may be younger than 19. That is The Villages’ rule for The Villages. It does not apply to the towns around it, and each neighborhood in those towns has its own documents and its own rules. Check the rule for the exact neighborhood before you fall for a house.

Getting around
By public map routing without traffic, downtown Ocala is about 31 minutes from Oxford, 39 from Lady Lake, and 42 from Lake Sumter Landing. UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, at 1451 El Camino Real, is about 11 minutes from Lake Sumter Landing.
What to ask before you tour
For any address near The Villages, ask which side of the line it sits on: inside The Villages, or in a separate neighborhood in one of the towns. Then ask for that neighborhood’s age rule in writing, its HOA and district charges, and its rental rules. Those answers matter more than the mailing address.
